Consultation Terms & Cancellation Policy
Last updated: 19/7/2026
About these terms
These terms apply to all clinical herbal consultations provided by Cora Inkster Herbal.
By booking a consultation, you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms.
Records related to consultations are retained according to my Privacy Policy.
Nature of consultations
Consultations are professional healthcare consultations provided by a qualified clinical herbalist.
Following your consultation, you will usually receive written recommendations by email. These may include herbal medicines, lifestyle suggestions, or other wellbeing advice.
You are not required to purchase or follow any recommendations provided.
Herbal recommendations are based on the information you choose to provide during the consultation. You are responsible for ensuring that all relevant health information is shared, including medications, medical conditions, allergies, pregnancy or breastfeeding status, and any other factors relevant to your care.
Consent to treatment
Before your first consultation, you will be asked to complete an intake form and provide informed consent.
By attending a consultation, you confirm that you understand:
The nature of clinical herbal practice
That herbal medicine may support health but does not guarantee outcomes
That you may choose whether or not to follow any recommendations
Children and young people
Children and young people may be seen where they are accompanied by a parent, legal guardian, or other appropriate responsible adult.
The accompanying adult is responsible for providing informed consent for the consultation and for making decisions regarding care and treatment.
Where appropriate, the child or young person may also be involved in discussions depending on their age and understanding.
In all cases, treatment is provided with the consent and participation of the responsible adult present.
Medical responsibility
Clinical herbal consultations do not replace emergency medical care.
You should seek immediate medical attention if you are experiencing urgent or serious symptoms.
You remain responsible for your own medical care and for informing your GP or other healthcare providers where appropriate.
GP communication
You may choose whether to provide GP or primary healthcare provider details.
I will not contact your GP without your permission except where there is a serious concern for safety and it is necessary or required by law or professional obligation to do so.
Appointment booking and payment
Appointments are booked via Acuity Scheduling.
Payment is taken in full at the time of booking.
Consultation fees do not include the cost of herbal prescriptions or products.
Consultation types
The following appointment types are available:
Initial consultation: 60 minutes
Follow-up consultation: 40 minutes
Appointment length may occasionally vary slightly depending on clinical need.
Cancellations and rescheduling
Appointments may be cancelled or rescheduled with at least 24 hours’ notice, and a full refund will be issued or the appointment rescheduled at no additional cost.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may not be eligible for a refund.
However, where illness, emergencies, or other exceptional circumstances arise, I may, at my discretion, offer a refund or rescheduled appointment. Please ask via email or contact form.
Missed appointments without notice or reason are not normally eligible for a refund.
Refunds are processed within 10 working days to the original payment method.
Late arrival
If you arrive late to your appointment, the consultation may be shortened to ensure other clients are not affected. The full fee will still apply.
If you are significantly late, the appointment may need to be treated as a missed appointment.
Rescheduling by practitioner
In rare circumstances, it may be necessary to reschedule an appointment due to unforeseen events. In such cases, you will be offered an alternative time or a full refund. Refunds are processed within 10 working days to the original payment method.
Follow-up and communication
You may receive written recommendations following your consultation.
Non-urgent clarification emails are typically responded to within 5 working days. Complex clinical queries may require additional time or scheduled follow-up.
Email is not intended for urgent medical concerns.
Herbal prescriptions and reorders
Herbal prescriptions are prepared individually based on clinical assessment.
In some cases, repeat prescriptions may be issued without a further consultation. In other cases, a follow-up appointment will be required for safety and monitoring purposes.
This decision is made on clinical grounds.
Professional judgement
I reserve the right to decline or discontinue consultation or treatment where it is clinically inappropriate, unsafe, or outside the scope of my practice.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cora Inkster Herbal is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from the use of services provided.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Scotland. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
